SoloSpike Passing Bands Technology (SPB)

Incredibly Simple - Incredibly Effective.

SPB Theory:
SoloSpike Passing Bands are based on the same proven theory as the SoloSpike Attack Training equipment.  The SPB program has been developed to help players focus on a specific skill, set goals, provide consistent feedback and increase confidence.  The SPB along with the training protocol create programs that are fun and have predictable positive results for the player in any environment.  The SPB alongside the SoloSet and SoloSpike are advancing the sport of volleyball with incredible results.

Focus "concentrated effort or attention on a particular task"
Hand eye coordination is important in all sports that require ball contact, but volleyball passing is the only sport specific skill that requires an athlete to contact a ball in the middle of the upper extremity.  This skill requires sport specific development and  SoloSpike is bridging the gap for volleyball athletes.  The SPB provides an area of focus for the athlete prior to contacting the ball.  Positive feedback is implemented every time the ball strikes the band rather than the bare arm.  Once consistent ball contact is created the efficiency of the passer will begin to increase.  Younger players are also encouraged due to the decreased arm sting that often intimidates beginners.

SPB means passing success.
The key to SPB effectiveness is the role of proprioception and kinesthetic awareness.  Research has found that the application of a well fitted material to the skin creates a better awareness of where that part of the body is in space and in relation to the rest of the body.  This effect combined with the visual focus created by using the SPB as a target speeds the muscle memory adaptation.  Passing a volleyball effectively requires a varied amount of force from one repetition to another and the use of the SPB assists in developing a consistent contact point and more appropriate force application in differing passing and digging situations.

Proprioception (PRO-pree-o-SEP-shun)
The sense of the relative position of neighboring parts of the body.  Proprioception provides feedback solely on the status of the body internally. It is the sense that indicates whether the body is moving with required effort, as well as where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other.
